Caroline Masters - Piano Teacher

Where do you start when you have a new piece to start learning and practising?

Before you start looking at the notes or the sharps and flats, have a look at the music and see if you can work out who composed it, when it was written.  This can sometimes help you to work out how it might sound - the style of the piece.

Does it look like another piece you  may have played?

Could you find a recording of what the piece sounds like on You Tube?
